The Weybridge room is located on the second floor of the Carriage House, which is a new structure built in 1995/7 on the footprint of the original historic building. The new Carriage House is decorated in the same manner as the historic main house, offering a homey mix of antiques and new furniture, but because the structure is modern, a stay here offers some pleasant modern aspects, including somewhat larger bedrooms and significantly larger bathrooms. In addition, some guests prefer to stay in the Carriage House because it has no public spaces … and, hence, less “incidental” sounds from other guests. Because Weybridge is on the second floor, there also is no overhead noise.
The Weybridge room is one of our large “queen plus twin” rooms, and so it often is a good choice for families. It is painted a very deep gold color. The ceiling shape lends a cozy feeling, without making the room seem the least bit cramped. In fact, we’ve been advised by guests that the room is more spacious than it appears in the photos! In addition to the two beds, the Weybridge room has an antique dresser, a good-size table for eating breakfast or working, two large comfortable arm chairs, and mini fridge. The closet area is quite large. The bathroom is very generously-sized. As in all rooms, there is a flat-screen TV and high-definition satellite service, as well as wireless high-speed Internet.
The view from the north-facing window is lovely (see the last photo below), looking toward the back garden and lawn of the inn. The view from the west-facing window is toward Town Hall Theatre and the village and college beyond.
